For our very first blog post, we thought we would indulge in something a little sweet! Knowing when to treat yourself is part of mastering a healthy balanced lifestyle. On this blog we'll be posting about what inspires us: from everything yoga, to (mostly) healthy recipes, and occasional competitions—so stay tuned!
While everyone else is munching on pumpkin bread (we love that too) we thought we would give a similar recipe a try with matcha green tea. And it's delicious! This recipe has just the right amount of sweetness. The green tea matcha adds a delightful freshness while not being too overpowering.
2 - Large Eggs
1 - Cup Flour
2/3 - Cup Sugar
1/2 - Cup Butter
1 - Cup sour cream
1 - Teaspoon Vanilla
1 - Tablespoon green tea matcha (find at your local Asian market, or check out Panatea Cullinary Grade Matcha online)
1. Cream Butter in bowl.
2. Add sugar in the butter and mix well. Gradually add beaten eggs and stir well. Then add sour cream and vanilla.
3. Sift flour, baking powder, and green tea powder together and add the flour to the egg mixture.
4. Pour the batter into a buttered loaf pan. Bake in preheated 340 degrees F oven for about 30-40 minutes. Baking time may vary depending on size of pan and oven. Test with a toothpick till it come out with moist crumbs.
Enjoy! We recommend serving this with sweet almond cream, cream cheese frosting with matcha added, or simply with some honey!
